FOR SALE: 1956 Play Time #55 MLW Blonde Blue-eyed Beauty
Item Code #D-G-M56PT      $250.00

A very nice Ginny to add to your collection.  She is a Molded Lash Straight Leg Walker in a darling complete outfit.  Her walker works wonderfully.  Her eyes do not open/close freely, which is quite common, they need help.  She has pretty deep blue eyes which is a great color combination with her honey blonde hair.  Arms are a bit loose and she has some trouble holding a pose.

See description and additional photos below:

Fastens with hook and eye.  No rust.  The jumper is made of gray felt.  The Medford tag is located inside the one piece blouse/panties. The blouse is a pink diamond print and the joined panties are white with loopy trim.  This outfit is clearly documented in the reference books as being from 1956.  The straw hat is edged with black velvet and is in excellent condition, with nice elastic chin strap.

This Ginny has beautiful coloring with a nice soft blush.  There are no rubs in her cheek color.  She does have the slight discoloration marks in the plastic on her temples and across the bridge of her nose, that sometimes shows up on these dolls.  It is not that uncommon and is thought that they are caused by a reaction of the plastic to the rubber band that held the dolls in shipping.  This is found in even the mintiest of dolls.  Because it is so common, some collectors find it totally acceptable, while others do not.  There are also some tiny rough spots to the plastic around her chin that do not show up in the photos.   They are very minor.

~*~*~*~

She wears black vinyl side-snap shoes with heels.  They are marked Ginny/Made in U.S.A.  She has stretchy pink rayon socks.

This Ginny has the shiny, courser saran hair that Vogue used more extensively on their bent knee walkers.  It is very similar in texture to the Alexander-kins.  I do not believe that this is a replacement wig because of the overall mint condition of this doll.  My theory on this is that she was probably a late 56 as Vogue was getting ready to begin using the saran more extensively.  This type of hair is not as easily style-able as the softer Dynel wigs.
