Galoob Punky Brewster Doll
|
From a very popular T.V. show in the early 80s, Punky Brewster captured our hearts with her bubbly charm and mischievous adventures. The story line was that she was an abandoned child, taken in by a kind hearted old apartment manager. Being alone, she wore miss matched clothes, had a latch key around her neck and was pretty independent for such a small child. In 1984, Galoob marketed this cute doll in the likeness of the star of the show, Punky Brewster, played by Soliel Moonfry. The doll was only marketed for a short time.
This doll has never been played with. She is an all cloth doll with a vinyl head and hands. She comes in her box with the cellophane wrap still around her head and pigtails. She is complete except that I noticed when I took her out of her box to photograph her more clearly (the box was no longer factory sealed), that she only had one yellow daisy ponytail clip. Somehow, one must have gotten lost along the way. She is still attached to the inside box insert. She is very clean and mint otherwise. The box itself is in pretty good shape although there are some dings, scrapes, and price tag glue residue. If it is a perfect box you want, this is not the one for you, but it is far from horrible. The colors are bright, the cellophane window has yellowed with age, and there is a spot of minor missing wording on the story on back.
Was this was your childhood doll, or do you collect celebrity dolls? If you are looking for a wonderful example of this doll she would definitely fit the bill. |
