FOR SALE: Ideal's Look Around Crissy

This is the 1972 version called "Look Around Crissy."  She is in her original plaid taffeta gown with matching panties.  Unfortunately she is missing her shoes.  The Look Around Crissy has a jointed waist with a plastic butterfly pull string on her back, that when pulled, allows her to slowly turn her waist as if to "look around".  She is a very pretty doll, and would be an asset to your collection, especially if you are collecting each version.

She has lovely retractable hair and fun to style!  I washed it and curled it but it could easily be straightened by rewetting it.  The dress is in very nice condition but the rose flower is missing from the belt (only the leaves remain).  There are a couple of minor pin-sized holes in dress fabric (one on skirt, two on back of one sleeve).  One of the original snaps in the back is missing a side, so only two snaps work.  Could easily be fixed if you want to replace the snap.

BACK VIEW showing the movement mechanism.  The pull string works, but is delicate.  Retracts rather slowly and needs a little help sometimes.  I would not suggest excessive play and would not recommend this for a child.  It is best for a collector.

Would be a wonderful doll to add to, or start, your collection of these classic 70s growing hair MOD dolls!

Crissy is the star of the grow hair family.  This doll has a very beautiful face and her coloring is excellent.  Sleep eyes work well and eye lashes are full.  She even has soft blue eye shadow on the upper lids.  Strong  blush on cheeks.  

Crissy will come with this very pretty velvet hooded cape.  I do not know if this is an authentic Crissy "extra" piece of clothing but it is how I found her.  I am not sure if it is factory or hand made but it is completely lined and fastens with a hook & eye. It may have been made for her from a pattern as it is very complimentary to the outfit, giving it a very festive "holiday" look.
