Mattel's Baby Brite #2

I currently have two of these cuties. The other, if still available is listed above this one on the 80s page in the Doll Shoppe.

This is the baby of the Rainbow Brite series and she is so very cute. Her coloring is very good. She is very clean. Stitching appears pretty much intact throughout but there is a seam separation on her left shoulder where the arm attaches to the body and the fabric is frayed there. The arm is still securely attached. New owner could try to fix but it doesn't show if this will be a displayed doll. When I found her this doll's hair was in a single ponytail as shown, instead of the two pigtails. The pink yarn hair appears slightly faded (at least it is a softer pink than the other Baby Brite I have). The ends of her yarn hair are a bit fuzzy in spots. Unfortunately she is missing her outfit but does still have her original diaper with logo intact. This will make a wonderful addition to your Rainbow Brite collection, especially if you already have her outfit.

Her facial coloring is bright and clear. Her star on cheek, prominent but less so that my other doll. It could be that she was made in a different factory, or a different run than the first doll because there are subtle differences in their faces. (Her star is also smaller than the other one's.) Looks like she had very little play.

She still has her original diaper with the rainbow logo. The doll still has her Mattel/Hallmark 1983 tag on back. Don't pass up the opportunity to own this fine example. If inquiring about this doll, ask for #2.
