Vogue  Ginny

Vinyl head with rooted honey blond hair, hard plastic bent knee body.  Dress is tagged with the Vogue Dolls, Inc. tag (57-65), dress is not original to this doll but of appropriate style.  Ribbon tie at waist added.  Dress very clean, no rips or stains, may have been laundered at one time. She also comes with matching yellow rayon socks, white Ginny marked shoes, and a matching yellow Ginny logo purse. I believe her panties are original.

This style of Ginny is not as popular as the 50s predecessor, but she is still a hard to find type and would make a wonderful addition to your collection if you want to have a Ginny from each era.  The vinyl head/hard plastic body was a transitional doll before Vogue went to an all vinyl doll in 1966 so this doll was only made for 3 years.  The photo above makes her look a bit cross-eyed, but as you can see from the close up photo below, she has a nice expression.

These dolls came in either this honey blonde, brunette, or platinum blonde pixie cut.  They also came in a short bobbed hairstyle, or two tiny pigtails.

Ginny has a crack in the plastic at her shoulder line.  This is hidden under her dress.

She also has a small chip out of the back of her knee but this does not detract from her ability to bend her knees. Her legs work fine.
