FOR SALE: Hard Plastic 8" "Ginny-type" from mid-50s.

She has no markings as is typical of these "generic" 8" hard plastic dolls. Several companies PMA, Fortune, Virga, etc., marketed them during the 50s.  The quality of these dolls was never as good as Vogue's but these dolls have stood the test of time and really have faired quite well. She is dressed in a very cute Virga style dress with those typical "angel sleeves".  Her panties match.

BACK VIEW
She has a very nice full wig with great curls in a pretty ashy blonde (almost tosca) color.  Her bangs are somewhat fuzzy and do not lay right.  A large bow or hat would probably help to make this less noticeable.  
She has been redressed in this darling polka-dot "angel sleeve" dress that is in overall nice condition.  Dress closes with a small brass button snap. There are no tags in the clothing.

She has the unpainted molded t-strap shoes for feet.

This little "Ginny-type" doll has hazel colored eyes, with molded lashes.  She does have a couple of problems that I want to note.  She has a teeny-tiny chip in her eyebrow paint and on her bottom lip (hardly noticeable). Her blush is somewhat faded.  Her walker mechanism no longer works because her head only moves slightly when I move her legs.  Her legs are very loose and wobbly but I have noticed this on several of these types of dolls.  A doll stand will be included for display.


There is a small stain on the front of the dress that may not be able to be removed.

Matching panties and soft vinyl slip-on shoes, included.

Not a mint doll, but a nice example of one of Ginny's competitors of the 50s era.
