FOR SALE: 1953 Ginny in #46 T.V.
Item Code #D-G-S5346    $200.00

A lovely example of a strung doll wearing her original outfit.  Her greatest asset is her gorgeous full wig, a thick brunette side-part.  Her 1953 outfit is very clean with no stains or rips however the belt is not original and the ties that were once with the shoes are missing.  This outfit does not appear to have ever been laundered.  It consists of a coral colored polished cotton top with an embossed "quilted" circular pattern and black velvet pants with gold loopy trim at bottom.  The tag is crisp.  It is the early "Vogue" in script.  Shoes are in overall nice condition but are a bit loose on her feet and they do show wear (mostly in the back).  She displays beautifully even though her lashes and brows are faded.  No socks.
Additional photos below:

BACK VIEW
Full wig, clean outfit.  Some cracking and split in the gold of the shoes.  The fronts of the shoes are in good shape.  Shoes have fuzzy bottoms.

Shoes are very loose without the ties and have a tendency to fall off easily.  Though I originally photographed her with socks, she does not come with socks.  This outfit actually displays better without them as they are bulky and do not allow the pants to hang smoothly.

The brunette side part wigs seem to be harder to find than the other colors or styles of this era.  This wig is very full but there is a break in the stitching on top and some of the wig netting is exposed right in front.  The wig still retains its shape though.  Ginny's eyes are a pretty deep blue.  As is typical with these dolls, her eyes need help to open and close.  Unfortunately Ginny has very light brown lashes and brows but her cheek coloring is still very bright.  She has no cheek rubs but does have residual glue on the side of her face, near her ears where the wig has lifted over time.

It appears in the photo that her cheek color is uneven but that is because of the flash.  Her cheek color is strong on both cheeks.  The above photo shows the exposed stitching on wig at hairline.

I noticed that when I was examining her closely, she has either a hair-line crack or scratch on the back of her left thigh.  It is possible this is from the factory but it is totally hidden under her outfit.  I tried to photograph it but it does not show up in the photos due to the flash. It really is rather minor and does not affect her display-ability.

If you don't mind Ginny dolls that are not perfect, then don't pass up this cutie.  She is a nice example of a strung brunette side part and would love to be a part of your collection.  She will display very well in this outfit (especially if you have her glasses), or in another one of your favorites.
