Mattel's Baby Love Light

This is a rather hard to find doll. Marketed by Mattel in 1971-72 she was only available for a relatively short time. The unique feature of this doll is that her eyes light up when you squeeze her right hand. Thus, making her a cuddly nighttime friend for a child who might not have liked going to bed in the dark. The hands are cupped to be held by a child. When the child falls asleep she/he releases the grip and the light goes out. She has a battery compartment inside her stuffed cloth body where 2 "D" batteries can be inserted (not included). Squeeze her right hand and her eyes will light up and she glows!
	~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Head and hands are made of vinyl with the hands being a thinner vinyl. Face paint is bright. Hair is full and shiny with no missing plugs. There is some play wear and minor surface scratches to the vinyl. Her eyes are very blue in their natural state and when her hand is squeezed they light up as shown below. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
	~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Not sure if the eye coloring has faded over time as the eyes appear pale when lit. Ads mention that they glow blue. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Head is marked Š1970 Mattel Inc. Mexico ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Her non-removable flannel p.j.s have pilled over time which typically happens to flannel. There is some soiling to both wrists and the little pom-poms on her feet. You can see a couple of tiny chew marks on the thumb of her hand.
