Knickerbocker Holly Hobbie "Amy" Rag Doll 16" Size, MIB (box not mint)

Anything Holly Hobbie was so very popular in the 1970s.  Holly and her friends are still very popular with collectors today because of their sweet country charm.  Holly Hobbie family rag dolls came in several sizes.  This is a common 16" size but most of these dolls are found loose and played with.  This Amy still has her original box and has been kept very clean.  She is still attached to the cardboard insert.  The only thing I can see as issue is that the paper filling of her bonnet has flattened over time and is a bit hard.  This was a natural occurrence from being stored for over 25 years.

Everything about this AMY is clean and pretty.  She is MINTY other than the filling in her bonnet as mentioned above. She is still attached to the cardboard insert by a twist tie at neck.  There were no inserts or catalogs inside the box.  Unknown if there were ever any. ~ * ~ The box is in o.k. shape as far as the graphics go, but the box itself is worn.  Her original price sticker has been removed, the cellophane window has come loose at the top and side, and there are some torn and bumped corners and creases.   There are also permanent marker scribbles on the top flap over her name. I bought an Amy, a Holly, and a Heather together from the same dealer and all of them had this red marker scribble on the top of the box, over their names.  Not sure why but perhaps the person who did it was trying to highlight the names for identification. Here is the back of the box.  The only date mentioned is for the package design, 1974.  The description states, "Everyone loves our Holly Hobbie and Amy rag dolls...Now meet Holly's brother Robby Hobbie and her friend Carrie, the newest additions to our famous rag doll line."

If you want a perfect box, do not buy this doll, but if you want a very clean minty Amy doll, then this one is for you. Amy's clean face with bright facial paint intact.  Pigtails are in great shape. Tag on back of dress. ~ * ~
