Ideal Look Around Crissy in Original Dress

This is the 1972 version called "Look Around Crissy." She is in her original plaid taffeta gown with matching panties. Some people call this the Christmas dress because of it's festive look, although it was not marketed that way by Ideal. Flower is in place on the waistband though it is a little crushed. Dress is in great condition, taffeta is crisp and colors are vibrant. Snaps work, no rips, but is a little wrinkled from storage. I didn't want to iron it because sometimes ironing will cause the taffeta to loose its crispness an get shiny. She even has her dark green Mary Jane shoes that are original to this outfit. The Look Around Crissy has a jointed waist with a plastic butterfly pull string on her back, that when pulled, allows her to slowly turn her waist as if to "look around". She is a very pretty doll, and would be an asset to your collection, especially if you are collecting each version.

Hair fully extended. The pony tail portion is long and shiny.	Hair fully retracted is still down to about her waist.
She has lovely retractable hair and fun to style!
	BACK VIEW showing the movement mechanism. The pull string works, and can be pulled out quite long. However all of these vintage "mechanicals" are delicate. I would not suggest excessive play and would not recommend this for a child. It is best for a collector.
A close-up of Crissy's pretty face.	Crissy is the star of the grow hair family. The base hair of this doll appears blunt cut and she has these wispy bangs. Not sure if this is how she came from the factory or if someone has cut her hair. I saw one similar in a reference book. It still has the potential to be styled into curls as I've often seen. This doll has a very beautiful face and her coloring is excellent. Sleep eyes work well and eye lashes are full. Another one I had recently had blue eye shadow on the upper lids, but there is no hint of that on this doll so I'm wondering if some did not have it. Strong blush on cheeks. Soft pink lips with no loss of paint. *~~~~ She still has her green shoes that are original to this outfit. This was a new style this year for Crissy with the Mary Jane strap.**
