FOR SALE:    Ideal's Crissy - 1970

One of Ideal's growing hair family of dolls, Crissy  is the "star" of the group.  This is the version that was marketed in 1970.   Her hair grows down to just about her knees.  She is wearing her original outfit and matching shoes.  Her matching panties have lost their elastic, which is pretty common.  Crissy is 18" tall and her grow-hair mechanism works fine.  I have had a few of these dolls in my inventory over the years and I have to say that this is the nicest one I have had.  I held onto her because I started to collect these, then changed my mind.  Her coloring is beautiful and she is in near mint condition.   Doll stand is not included, it is for display only (she can stand on her own).

Crissy's hair fully extends to just above her knees. Very nice texture, smooth and comb-able, no tangles or fuzziness, with just the slightest curl on bottom.  Photo above makes her hair appear much more orange than it is because I used a side light.

As I mentioned above, I personally think she is one of the prettiest of the Crissy dolls I've ever had.  She is the same size as all of the 18" friends in the line and can wear all of the same clothes.  Her coloring is soft with a slight tan (vinyl head and arms are a softer material than the body and may have slightly darkened with age).  Her "make-up" is strong.  Her brush lashes are full.  There is a very tiny chip in her lip paint.

The extension hair that comes out of the hole on the top of her head is almost identical in color to the base hair.  Sometimes there is a noticeable difference in color and texture on these dolls but not this one.  Hers is very even.
