Mattel's Newborn Love 'n Touch Doll

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A very sweet baby from Mattel. She is dated 1979 on the back of her neck and on the body tag. She measures approximately 12" tall. She is a floppy cloth-bodied doll with a vinyl head and hands to just above the wrists. Her head is slightly weighted to make her feel like a real baby. There are no chew marks on her hands. She comes in her original fleecy hooded pajamas with drop-drawers. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A beautiful sweet face! She has realistically painted piercing blue eyes.* Her brunette hair is rooted and rather wild under her bonnet, but this is how they came. Very thin, wispy and infant like. There are a couple of hair plugs that are missing on the side but the hair and bonnet covers this. I believe this was probably from the factory based on the way they made the hair. Her skin tone is only slightly yellowed with age. *PLEASE NOTE: On very close inspection of this doll, I am noticing that her eyebrows are slightly different than another that I have, that look more stenciled. This doll's brows look more painted in thin strokes and her eye paint has a few more highlights. However, these dolls do have painted eyes (not decals) and this does not appear to be a repaint but because I haven't seen enough of these, nor is there accurate reference materials available yet on these dolls, AND because she is in such excellent condition otherwise, I have to assume that this is factory. In the past I have noticed that on close examination of multiples of other dolls that sometimes there are slight differences based on which factory may have produced the doll or which year they may have been manufactured. Both body tags on this doll and the other, are identical. I am bringing this to your attention if you are looking for a mint doll for possible future investment potential. If that is your endeavor then I would suggest to you to get a mint in box doll, and pass this one up since I cannot guaranty that she is completely factory. But if you are looking to replace your doll, or give it to a child and are not interested in this affect on possible resale value, then by all means keep reading.
The logo patch on shirt has a bluebird and the letters T. and L. in script (could these dolls be part of the Tender Love line?) Her darling outfit has a little flap in the back that when unfastened, reveals her cute little bottom.	Undressed to show body construction
